I met Indigo last autumn in New York. She was trying on a summer flame cotton set in the very back of the Oroboro shop at one of our events. She was so laid back but engaging and we started talking immediately. She talked about women that inspired her, of women doing interesting things. Well, she is one. She does things and she feels things, she also talks looking straight into your eyes, which is rare nowadays, perhaps that is why she can feel things and openly let you know about it.
Six months later she texted me to say she was coming to Europe on tour and she would be in Madrid. The last week of school is crazy, if you have kids you know. I asked her to come home whenever she was ready if she wanted some home made meal. She came to my kitchen on a day when builders had been changing our windows and kids had just arrived from school with a hungry baby, no food ready, a kitchen full of dust etc. But her calm presence, her ease made it all feel so right. We made a quick gazpacho just like that and talked for hours in the middle of it all as if we were everyday neighbors. I feel like I will always be touched somehow whenever we meet. I will listen to her beautiful music, until next time.
Thank you Indigo for your time, your photos at home, your music and your babaà love.
